Learning outcomes

The seminar, that will take around 8 lessons, will show the state of art regarding the use of coordination compounds based on luminescent lanthanide ions in the biomedical field (optical bioimaging and sensing ). During the lessons also a brief introduction on spectroscopy of transition metal ions of the d and f series will be performed.
The PhD student will learn basic concepts regarding the photo-physical properties of these compounds in order to expand his/her knowledge in the field of advanced technologies employed in the biomedical field.
