Learning outcomes

Molecular interactions play a vital role in the cells since they are at the base of different cellular processes such as protein folding, DNA replication and regulation of different signaling networks. Moreover, molecular interactions find application in different industrial fields such as drug design, material science, sensorsand nanotechnology. Therefore, the study of molecular interactions at a chemical, biochemical and biophysical level can help usto characterizeprotein complexes and discover new pathways, complexes and functional modules within the cell, but also to identify novel drug candidates and nanobodies of therapeutic applications. In this course, we will discuss the principal biophysical techniques to study molecular interactions in solution, with a particular focus on NMR spectroscopy.
