Digital pathology is the use of high-resolution digital images of histological slides, obtained through slide scanners, to view, store, share, and analyze tissue samples on a computer. It allows pathologists to work remotely and can include artificial intelligence tools to support analysis, while the final diagnosis remains the responsibility of the pathologist.
