Overview
This course aims to develop skills in: a) designing evidence-based exercise programmes for young children from 0-6 years old in educational, recreational, formal and non-formal contexts, and with children of any background (foreigners, children with disabilities, etc.); b) using the main sources of bibliographic research; c) designing experimental studies using quantitative methods and research using qualitative methods. The main theoretical perspectives in international research on child motor development will be covered. The course will also present and explore communication techniques (verbal and non-verbal) and counselling, aspects of child development and care relationships, and aspects of relationships with parents and teachers. Students will be offered opportunities to do workshops, gain experiential knowledge and better understand their own emotional experiences, including those related to physical experiences.
