Experienced Microbiologist with over twenty years of experience in Clinical Microbiology and Molecular Biology. Excellent skills for resolving problems and perform clinical diagnostic and research. My research focuses on the molecular and phenotypic characterization of emerging and re-emerging pathogens and development and validation of new diagnostic assays. In particular, I focused on diagnosis and molecular characterization of arboviruses (Dengue, Chikungunya, Zika, West nile virus, Toscana and Usutu viruses). Current research is focused on the characterization of multidrug resistant pathogens and molecular epidemiology of carbapenem-resistant Gram-negative bacteria. In particular, I apply different omics approaches to trace the distribution of emerging MDR bacteria, identify novel traits of resistance and define novel therapeutic schemes of treatment for infections due to MDR
