The aim of the study was to evaluate the presence of metastasis through CT texture analysis in patients with PDAC.
Note:
Computed Tomography (CT) is the preferred imaging for the diagnosis and staging of Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma (PDAC); however its sensitivity in identifying hepatic metastases is only 70-75%. Texture analysis has been shown able to predict tumor aggressiveness and histopathological grade, to predict lymph node involvement, to correlate with post-resection survival and with the survival of patients with unresectable disease. A current purpose of texture analysis could be the ability to predict metastatic disease; this study aims to evaluate the presence of metastasis through CT texture analysis in patients with PDAC.
