Curriculum


The research interests of Ugo Moretti are pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacovigilance, with special reference to adverse drug reactions and adverse event following immunization (vaccines).
He is the responsible of the Regional Pharmacovigilance Centres of Veneto region and of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano. Since 2016 is member of the Secretariat to Coordination and Support to the Pharmacovigilance Office, Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA).
He collaborates with AIFA in the analyses of data from spontaneous reporting system (signal detection) and he is the reference contact in the filed of medical terminology, in particular for MedDRA dictionary. He is responsible of a research project with AIFA in the development of web-based tools for the analyses of data from the italian database Rete Nazionale di Farmacovigilanza.
He is also expert in the tools for evaluation the relationship bvetween an adverse event and a drug (causality assessment). He has active participation in many national and international projects in pharmacovigilance.

Research groups

Pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacovigilance
The research group on Pharmacovigilance and pharmacoepidemiology includes researcher studying botyh the efficacy and the risk profiles of drugs in the population. In this field the group is involved in both national and international research projects and in italian surveillance systems on adverse drug reactions and adverse events following immunization (AEFI). The group include the Regional Pharmacovigilance Centre of Veneto Region and of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano.

PE studies the relationships between patients, diseases and drugs.
